The competition provides a cross-disciplinary platform for kindergarten and primary school students to learn and create stop motion animation, which requires a combination of skills and knowledge from language learning, technology to art. It aims to improve students’ language ability through script writing, as well as strengthen their problem solving skills through scientific inquiry and artistic creation. Participating students will have the chance to learn about animation creation and produce their own stop motion animation with a theme relating to marine conservation. Teacher and student workshops will be provided to the participating schools to enhance their understanding of the relationship between animation creation, language learning and creative problem solving.
