Building on the foundation of English Enhancement Scheme for Secondary Schools, the Education Bureau launched the Refined English Enhancement Scheme for Secondary Schools (REES) in 2010 to support schools for continuous refinement of their plans on the school-based fine-tuned Medium of Instruction (MOI) arrangements.
The ceiling of funding under REES was $1 million for each school. The actual amount of grant for each school depended on individual schools' proposals and implementation strategies.
The school-based measures were required to be completed by the end of the 2013/14 school year.
