Application Method
  • Kindergartens are required to submit application(s) to the respective course provider(s) with all the supporting documents required. Each applicant is allowed to apply for courses organised by ONE of the course providers only. Applications without the required supporting documents WILL NOT be processed.
  • Recommendation on a teacher’s application for the course(s) from the principal of his/her serving kindergarten is required.  All applicants should submit a recommendation letter (for teacher applicants only) or a self-recommendation letter (for principal applicants only) together with their application(s).

Release of Admission Results
  • For the first-term courses (Nov 2023 - Jan 2024), the admission results will be released by the respective course provider(s) on the designated dates.
  • For the second-term courses (Feb – July 2024), the admission results will be released by the respective course provider(s) on 20 February 2024.
Acceptance of Admission Offer
  1. First-Term Courses (Nov 2023 - Jan 2024)
    • Upon announcement of admission results, principal/teacher applicant(s) should notify the respective course provider(s) of their acceptance of the offer on the designated dates.
  2. Second-Term Courses (Feb 2024 - Jun 2024)
    • Upon announcement of admission results, principal/teacher applicant(s) should notify the respective course provider(s) of their acceptance of the offer from 21 to 22 February 2024.
Supply Teacher Grant
  • To be eligible for the Supply Teacher Grant, teacher participants should attend the specified course of the Chinese/English Language Enhancement Programme for Kindergarten Teachers of the 2023/24 school year for three consecutive weekdays (Monday to Friday) or more.
  • Application for Supply Teacher Grant will be considered unsuccessful if teacher participants fail to attend the specified course for three consecutive weekdays (with the exception of sick leave).
  • To apply for Supply Teacher Grant, kindergartens should submit the application form with all the required documents by post or in person to Language Education & SCOLAR Section.
  • Applications must be submitted to Language Education & SCOLAR Section with all the required documents by 31 August 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
Guide to Schools
  • Principals and teachers of local non-profit-making kindergartens that have joined the ‘Kindergarten Education Scheme’ of the Education Bureau will be given priority to apply for the following subsidised courses of the Programme:
    Chinese Language Programme – Foundation Course
    For teachers or principals who have not taken any courses of the Chinese Language Programme in the 2017/18 to 2019/20 school years and any foundation courses of the Chinese Language Programme in the 2020/21 to 2022/23 school years.

    Chinese Language Programme – Extended (non-Chinese Speaking (NCS)) Course

    For teachers or principals who have not taken any of the Extended (NCS) Courses of the Chinese Language Programme in the 2020/21 to 2022/23 school years.

    English Language Programme – Level One

    For teachers/principals who have not taken any courses of the English Programme (Level One) in the 2020/21 to 2022/23 school years; and
    for principals who have not taken any courses of the English Programme for principals in the 2018/19 to 2020/21 school years.

    English Language Programme – Level Two

    For teachers/principals who have not taken any courses of the English Programme (Level Two) in the 2020/21 to 2022/23 school years; and
    for principals who have not taken any courses of the English Programme for principals in the 2018/19 to 2020/21 school years.
  • Serving kindergarten principals and teachers who meet the aforementioned entry requirements may apply for the respective courses of the Programmes. Kindergarten principals and their nominated teachers are responsible for checking whether the online application procedures have been completed or not.
  • Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Late application will not be accepted.
  • Upon announcement of admission results, kindergartens which wish to replace the course participant(s) with other teacher(s) of their school must seek prior written approval from SCOLAR and the respective course provider(s)/institution(s) at least five working days before the commencement of the course.
  • No replacement of course participants is allowed upon commencement of the courses.
  • Should a course participant wish to drop out from a course of the Programme due to health reason, he/she and his/her serving kindergarten must inform the SCOLAR Secretariat and the respective course provider (institution) in writing with supporting documents.
  • Should a course participant resign from the kindergarten which has enrolled him/her in the course of the Programme and leave the profession before the commencement of the course or during the course period, he or she will not be allowed to attend the course.
  • SCOLAR reserves the right to make the final decision with respect to the allocation of subsidised places of each kindergarten.
