Introduction
With a view to creating a facilitating language learning environment for the people of Hong Kong, particularly students and the workforce, the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) launched Sponsorship Projects in the 2015/16 school year.
Supported by the Language Fund, the Sponsorship Projects aim at promoting bi-literacy (Chinese and English) and tri-lingualism (Cantonese, Putonghua and English) through an array of language-related and event-/competition-based projects, engaging the community to enrich the language environment of Hong Kong, and leveraging on the efforts and success of other parties in organising language-related and event-/competition-based projects in the community.
