SCOLAR commissioned Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and NOW TV to produce two video series to promote the “Biliteracy and Trilingualism Campaign”. Details of the two series are set out below:
Five episodes of a promotional video series entitled “兩文三語通天下” for promoting the importance of being biliterate and trilingual in various fields were broadcast on TVB 81 Jade Channel, 83 TVB News Channel, and 85 TVB Financial Sports Information Channel in December 2023 and January 2024. Another series of promotional videos, entitled “兩文三語 全城參與”, exploring the use of Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)and English by people from various walks of life will be broadcast on NOW News Channel, NOW Business Channel and ViuTV every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, for eight consecutive weeks starting from 15 February 2024. This episode features two biliterate and trilingual competitions held by local education organisations. The organizers are keen to encourage students from kindergarten to secondary levels to learn and improve Chinese and English. They think that people’s being biliterate and trilingual can help maintain Hong Kong’s competitiveness. In the programme, contestants also share some tips for learning the two languages. |
