Product engineer:Hi! Hubert Lane speaking.
Personal assistant:Good morning, Mr Lane. This is Clara Chan. I'm calling from Mr Green's office.
Product engineer:Oh, hi, Ms. Chan! How can I help you?
Personal assistant:You may call me Clara actually. Mr Green’s asked me to confirm the date of the R7 presentation with you. Can we confirm 16th next month?
Product engineer:Sorry, Ms … I mean, Clara. The bad news is that 16th won't work now as it clashes with an important meeting. The good news is 18th will be fine. And I'm sorry that I don't have any other day available next month.
Personal assistant:I see. So, 18th next month. What time would you prefer? I need to ask our Communications Manager to update the programme.
Product engineer:Is it possible for me to do it in the morning? Then we can see it in the evening news. I'm sure David will like it.
Personal assistant:What about 10 a.m.? We may need time to set up and check the equipment.
Product engineer:Yes. Speaking of equipment, can I make a request now? Should I be talking to you about that?
Personal assistant:Yes, yes, I was about to ask you about the equipment. What sort of equipment do you need for the presentation?
Product engineer:I want to go back to basics this time. May I have just a computer, a screen, a projector and a laser pointer? Nothing fancy. I think that will give them a shock.
Personal assistant:What about the trial for guests and reporters? You know, like last time for R6, it's on the programme.
Product engineer:No, no, no. There won’t be trials anymore. The programme… is it already printed? Can you change it?
Personal assistant:No problem. I just need to tell Louisa. So, just a computer, a screen, a projector and a laser pointer. Got it. Thanks very much, Mr Lane.
Product engineer:Hubert. You're welcome, Clara.
Personal assistant:Thanks, Hubert. Bye.
