SCOLAR sets up the Professional Development Incentive Grant Scheme for Language Teachers to encourage serving teachers of the Chinese and English Language subjects who joined the teaching profession before the 2004/05 school year to pursue recognised programmes of studies for enhancing their subject knowledge and pedagogy in the language they teach.  Each applicant may receive an upward adjustment of the maximum subsidy level from $50,000 to $62,500 upon his/her successful completion of the approved relevant programme of study starting from 1 September 2017.  Retrospective arrangements are only applicable to those applicants completing the relevant programmes of studies from January to August 2017.  There is NO arrangement to top up the subsidy for the programmes of studies completed on or before 31 December 2016.
