Early childhood is a golden period for language development, during which early language experiences and a good language environment are essential for promoting young children's language development. To provide support for kindergarten teachers to plan and implement effective English learning and teaching activities, the SCOLAR Early Childhood Language Team (SEL Team) of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) has collaborated with the kindergarten sector for many years to research and develop effective learning and teaching strategies/activities that promote young children's English language development.
This section of the resource station aims to enrich local serving kindergarten teachers with professional skills and knowledge on promoting/facilitating young children’s English language development through a wide variety of learning and teaching activities, mainly by means of videos and text files, for classroom use. Kindergartens implementing local curricula are welcome to use the resources provided for in-school professional development programmes for teachers, individual professional development of teachers or conducting English activities in the classroom.

The videos and documents related to learning and teaching activities provided in the Early Childhood Language Learning and Teaching Resource Station are owned by the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) and the Education Bureau. They are intended for use by local non-profit-making public schools for in-school professional development programmes for teachers, individual professional development of or English activities conducted by relevant serving teachers. No parts of the videos or documents related to the learning/teaching activities in this resource station can be reproduced, stored, transmitted or used in any forms or by any means without prior permission in writing from SCOLAR for purposes other than the abovementioned. Profit-making or commercial use of the resources from this station is not permitted.
The content of the Early Childhood Language Learning and Teaching Resource Station and its regulations regarding the use of the resources may be amended or revoked at any time at the discretion of SCOLAR and the Education Bureau.
