English Language Programmes for Secondary Schools

To further arouse students' interest in reading and using English, and encourage them to engage more deeply with texts for better understanding and greater pleasure, a new series of creative, inspirational, meaningful, fun and educational programmes for secondary school students was launched in the 2016/17 school year. "Gulliver's Travels The Immersive Experience" (Public Session)

The Immersive Experience brought an interesting and imaginative immersive experience in Gulliver's Travels with native-speaking English cast. The participants met and interacted with Gulliver, the Lilliputians, Humperdinck, the Baron and Baroness of the Lilliput and many others of this classic story.

The activity was successfully held on 14 May 2017 (Sunday).

    • Primary 4 to Secondary 2 students and their families
  • Programme Content:
    • During the 55-minute programme, the participants
      • went through a 25-minute pre-task to learn key vocabulary and phrases;
      • participated in a 30-minute imaginative immersive journey performed by a native speaking cast;
      • read different text types through interactive reading games and activities; and
      • expressed themselves imaginatively/creatively while interacting with the characters/cast.
