The Workplace English Campaign (WEC) will organise the Workplace English Campaign Exhibition at the Times Square in Causeway Bay during the Easter holidays starting on 9 April (Friday) until 12 April (Monday) to promote the importance of workplace English and the Hong Kong Workplace English Benchmarks.
The exhibition is open to public between 11:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and admission is free. There will be display panels presenting information on WEC, Hong Kong Workplace English Benchmarks as well as the Funding Scheme for Workplace English Training which will stop receiving applications from individuals on 1 January 2005.
Concurrently, two "Easter Wish Trees" will also be set up at the exhibition venue for visitors to make their Easter wishes on improving English standards.
Jointly organised by WEC and Radio Television Hong Kong, the Workplace English 2004 Kelly Chen Fun Fun Show will be held at 2:30 p.m. on 10 April (Saturday) at the same venue. Miss Kelly Chen, the Campaign's Ambassador, will take part in the activity to promote the "Workplace English" TV programme and share with the audience the importance of workplace English through simple but meaningful games.
For enquiries, please call the WEC hotline at 2186 8800.
WEC was launched by the Government in 2000 with the aims of heightening public awareness of the importance of workplace English and raising the standard of English among the Hong Kong workforce.
